"Foire de Crête" 2010

The traditional "Foire de Crête" tooks place, as each year since 5 centuries, in Thonon. During all the week, various activities and celebrations allowed people to discover specialities and traditions of the "Chablais".

Named after the square it is held in, this unmissable annual event takes place on the first Thursday of September and lasts all week with attractions and a funfair. It started out as the meeting place for farmers trading their livestock and stocking up on winter provisions, clothes and other essentials. Here you will find garlic necklaces as originally sold at the fair.

From the funfair to the election of Miss Thonon-les-Bains all the city celebrates "Crête" and enjoys the first days of September among family and friends.

The "Grand Jeudi de Crête"

It's one of the oldest fair in France. Each first Thursday of September on the "Place de Crête" a lots of craftsmen and secondhand goods dealers sell their products. All the traditional products of the area could be found in this big market and young people could discover all kind of animals.
