The River Dranse and the passage of time dug deep gorges in the valley's large limestone ridge. The Gorges are equipped for easy public access and offer an incredible forest setting and a humbling image of the power of erosion.

Lake Geneva is an authentic inland sea and the largest lake in Western Europe. It started out as a glacier mainly fed by the Rhone River. The lake is majestic in size and is a unique destination as the Sea in the Mountain!

Ripaille Forest is just minutes away from Thonon town centre and is ideal for a lovely walk. This private wooded area is home to several different species of animal and you can stroll along a signposted trail to become one with nature.

This large and romantic park on the banks of Lake Geneva was opened in June 2010 for visitors to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. It has paths (including paths for disabled visitors), lawns and views of the lake, Jura Mountains and Switzerland.

You can have a lovely walk along the 1,200m bank linking the marina and Thonon’s communal beach.

A pleasant park around a lake in the heart of Thonon town centre (by the Hôpitaux du Léman). Green paradise and home to many species of bird. You can fish in the lake (with a permit).

The Foire de Crête esplanade is the place to be and hosts many events including the traditional Foire de Crête and two annual flower markets (Spring and Autumn).

A shaded terraced park above Lake Geneva with fantastic views of the lake and lower town especially in the evening. Close to several restaurants and bars.
